Museum Quality
Custom Picture Framing

What is Museum Quality Custom Picture Framing? It is the most suitable housing to display the essential beauty and interest of an object while prolonging its life by securing the object in  stable environment.

At The FrameSmith, the use of acid free materials is a must. We do not offer mats that have an acidic component. The acids in mat boards are what causes the mat’s bevel cut to turn yellow over time. That same acid also “burns” a yellow line on the art it contains.
Mount boards containing acid also cause yellowing and fading of the artwork.

A glass that acts as an ultra violet filter is also a must. Whether in a “non-glare” form or “clear” form, living in Texas, and many other areas, requires protection from harmful, color fading, light. We use only the highest quality glass available, Tru Vue glass. The top of the line in glass is Tru Vue Museum Glass. This glass filters up to 99% of ultra violet rays while having an almost invisible quality. It has to be seen to be believed!
